The Mine Engineer is responsible for determining methods of minerals extraction, considering factors such as safety, operational cost, deposit characteristics, overburden impact and surrounding strata. The Mine Engineer plans, recommends and coordinates mining processes, type and capacity of haulage equipment, such as power shovels, trucks and labor utilization. The Mine Engineer designs and directs mine construction operations, such as location and development of haul roads, determination of waste handling, stockpile formation and logistics and position of excavation benches. The Mine Engineer designs, implements and monitors mine services and controls, including but not limited to water supply and drainage, power distribution, conveyor systems, environmental dust suppression methods, grading and material cleaning. Responsibilities include engineering for short term planning, long term planning, health, safety and environmental compliance and supervision of hourly personnel.

 

Background Required:

BS Mine Engineering or Minerals Engineering with 5 -7 years experience in operations, mine planning and maintenance with at least 3 years in an operations assistant management role over ore extraction, mobile equipment and mining activities. Competency in Mine planning software, AutoCAD, and Office Suite is critical
