Job Description

Our client is looking for a Legal and Regulatory Counsel (focus regulatory) to join its Legal and Regulatory Department based in Brussels (Belgium), London (United Kingdom) or Austin, TX (USA).

Key Responsibilities:

Regulatory advice and compliance

  • As the case may be, provide senior assistance and advices to the Officer(s) on specific and more complex items/ issues

Regulatory projects

  • Prepare the entry of Company in a new country or launching a new service in a country of coverage, advice on regulatory decisions and obtain the appropriate licenses
  • Ensure that all aspects of the project are analyzed on the legal and regulatory aspects, and request inputs as appropriate
  • Review all appropriate legal documentation and/ or contracts; Advise about regulatory impact and risks
  • As the case may be, takes the lead as Project manager for regulatory project from A to Z and implement a compliance project
    As the case may be, draft/ update/ improve standard template of supplier agreements

Contractual Support

  • Negotiate commercial arrangements with customers, as well as service and interconnection agreements with carriers
  • Draft or update standard terms and conditions, templates, and other types of agreements and legal documents

Public policy:

  • Follow-up lobbying activities of associations to which the Company is member
  • Participate and contribute to common positions and lobbying activities
  • Contribute to position papers and consultations conducted by administrations

Profile:

  • Master degree in law, a major in business contract law or telecommunication law is a strong asset
  • An LL.M is an asset
  • Minimum 3 year’s experiences as counsel in an international law firm or the legal department of a multinational company
  • Experience with regulatory work in telecommunications
  • Excellent knowledge of international commercial contract law
  • Knowledge of European data privacy laws
  • Knowledge of European/ International telecommunication law
  • High interest for new technologies and telecommunications is a must
  • Proficient knowledge of English; any other language is an asset
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Analytical and synthesis skills
