Job Description

We are retained by our client to find them a Director of Manufacturing based in the SW Boston area. Our client is a Global manufacturer of specialty packaging solutions for a variety of high end markets. The Director of Manufacturing is responsible for leading all production operations, which is a high-volume print and packaging manufacturing facility.

My client is looking for leadership skills, and Continuous improvement experience to lead a team of 2-
Lead Managers on first shift for Sheeting/Press Manager 1 Converting Manager. which also includes 1 Second shift Supervisor and 1 Third shift Supervisor.

This role has a target Base salary of up to $200K or MORE, plus a 20% incentive bonus based on EBITDA. Below is the full description for review:

Director of Manufacturing

This role is accountable for delivering world-class operational performance through Lean Manufacturing, rigorous process control, best-in-class quality and color management standards.

The successful candidate will drive EBITDA performance through productivity, waste reduction, asset optimization, and cost control, while enabling Sales and commercial growth through operational capability, service excellence, and scalable manufacturing systems. Capabilities are with the following Equipment: 2 -Sheeters ; 3 presses ; 6 cutters ; 2 window machines, 6- folder/gluers; and 1 laminator.

This is a leadership role that requires a passion for safety, a relentless focus on continuous improvement, and the ability to build high-performing teams in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment.

Operational Excellence & Performance

Lead daily manufacturing operations to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People (SQDCP) objectives.

Drive EBITDA improvement through yield optimization, waste reduction, labor efficiency, and OEE improvement.


Implement and sustain Lean Manufacturing principles (5S, SMED, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping).


Develop robust production planning and capacity management aligned to revenue growth.


Ensure KPI transparency through visual management and disciplined performance reviews.

Process Control & Color Management

Establish and maintain industry-leading process control systems.

Drive statistical process control (SPC) and data-led decision making.


Own quality, color management standards, calibration protocols, and press optimisation to ensure brand consistency and customer satisfaction.


Work closely with pre-press, technical and quality teams to eliminate variation and reduce rework.



Safety & Compliance

Champion a zero-harm culture.

Ensure full compliance with H&S regulations, environmental standards, and internal governance.


Lead behavioral safety initiatives and near-miss reporting culture.


Ensure machinery, equipment, and working practices meet regulatory and audit standards.

Continuous Improvement & Culture

Build and embed a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Develop frontline leadership capability through coaching and structured development.


Promote problem-solving discipline (root cause analysis).


Drive employee engagement and ownership at all levels of the operation.

Commercial & Cross-Functional Alignment

Partner with Sales to ensure operational readiness for new business opportunities.

Support revenue growth through improved lead times, service performance, quality and technical capabilities.


Provide operational input into pricing models, margin analysis, and capital investment decisions.


Collaborate with Supply Chain to optimise inventory, materials flow, and supplier performance.

Financial & Asset Management


Own operational budget and cost performance.


Deliver cost-saving initiatives without compromising safety or quality.


Lead capital investment projects aligned to strategic growth and productivity enhancement.


Ensure asset reliability through preventative maintenance strategies and strong engineering partnership.
