Corporate Controller (Mifflinburg, PA)
The ideal candidate would have the following qualities:
- Exceptional knowledge of finance, budgeting, cost accounting, cost control
principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Excellent communication/computer skills
- Highly proficient with accounting software and experience with a software
system implementation
- Possess advanced knowledge of bookkeeping/accounting best practices,
standards, and state/national regulations
- Analytical ability to develop and implement improvements and a desire to
improve efficiency
- Exhibits sound judgment, attention to detail and problem solving
Controller responsibilities include:
- Manage staff and all other aspects of the Accounting Department
- Create dashboard reporting tools that ensure timely and accurate financial
reporting to all levels of management
- Assist with all areas of financial management including the creation of
departmental budgets
- Manage day to day and long-term cash flow analysis
- Ensure timely financial statement creation/reporting monthly, quarterly and
annually
- Evaluate and improve all company service contracts
- Oversee the company transaction processing systems and the daily information
flow between departments
- Define, benchmark and implement accounting policies and operational best
practices
- Develop new and innovative solutions to operational issues
- Report and monitor all issues regarding legal, cashflow, OSHA, DOL etc.,
ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain appropriate insurance coverages, evaluate needs and plans
regularly
- Ensure record keeping meets all compliance requirements, maintain
relationships with external auditors and investigate findings and
recommendations
- Manage all financial and tax strategies
- Assist management with the creation of an overall strategic plan for the
company
- Assist department heads to create and manage all capital expense requests
and budgets
- Advise/strategize with senior management on financial analyses and
decision-making regarding capital investments, pricing, contract negotiation,
and benchmarks
Educational Requirements
- Minimum education required is a Bachelors’ degree in accounting, finance or
Business Administration with an emphasis on Accounting or a related
field
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
license preferred
