CONTROLLER

The Controller is responsible for leading the team in recording and reporting financial information to internal and external users   

REPORTING TO:  VP of Corporate Accounting

KEY ACTIVITIES:

• Lead a team of staff accountants and interns in the value creation process.
• Ensure finance team is providing excellent customer service to our operation teams.
• Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Be intentional with your impact on our culture.
• Oversee the month-end close process and analysis of results.
• Prepare monthly financial reports to present and discuss with senior leadership team.
• Liaise with external auditors for year-end financial statement audits.
• Analyze financial data and communicate financial results to key managers.
• In coordination with the Director of Internal Controls, establish, implement, and monitor appropriate internal controls to ensure conformance and compliance with GAAP and other statutory requirements.
• Oversee budget process, including revenues, expenses and preparation of the budget, etc.
• Make recommendations towards sound business decisions while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

• Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP, including consolidation and joint venture accounting.
• A strong knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, including a sound understanding of financial forecasting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to effectively collaborate with other team members.
• Sound computer skills, including strong abilities with Microsoft Excel & Office applications.
• Demonstrated experience using business models, budget comparisons and forecasting.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
• Master’s Degree in Accounting or MBA desired
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or working towards is desired.
• 3+ Years Previous Controller Position Experience preferred.
