Supports manufacturing with improvements to current and new manufacturing processes and solutions to manufacturing process problems. Interfaces closely with Manufacturing Engineers to ensure that the most efficient methods of processing components and assemblies are within the specifications, constraints and the quality of the final product. Technical: ? Creates CNC program of machine instructions to regulate movement of the machine tool.? Responsible for communicating with the Manufacturing Engineer all issues found as the job is being programmed.? Selects or designs robot end-of-arm tools to meet specifications, using robot manuals and either drafting tools or computer and software programs.? Writes operating programs, using existing computer program, or writes own computer programs, applying knowledge of programming language and computer.? Oversees installation to ensure machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications.? Tests ability of machines, such as robot, to perform tasks, using teach pendant and precision measuring instruments and following specifications.? Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.? Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing? Solid understanding of CNC mills, lathes and EDM. Excellent mechanical skills and the ability to use rulers and basic measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers and comparators.Background:
