This well-established family owned and operated horticultural company take pride in their management practices, strong, clear lines of communication and high-quality produce. The company has long established reputations for quality produce for both domestic and export markets. With over 250ha of table grapes and 850ha of citrus, the company is currently seeking a hands-on individual with significant horticultural production experience to join the team.


Reporting to the Field Manager, the Assistant Field Manager will be responsible for optimising citrus and table grape production, managing the day-to-day operations within budget, whilst maintaining vineyard and orchard health.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations in a hands-on supervisory position
  • Field operations such as tractor work, chemical spraying, slashing and irrigation checks
  • Supervise, support and train staff with emphasis on productivity and quality
  • Monitor pest and disease, including weed control and general maintenance
  • Ensure farm assets, tools and equipment are maintained and accounted for
  • Assist to plan operational budgets and maintain accurate records

Skills and Experience

  • Extensive hands-on experience in citrus and/or table grape production (essential)
  • Experience with day-to-day management of vines and/or trees
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, manage, train and motivate staff
  • Ability to use and maintain agricultural plant and equipment
  • Current unencumbered drivers licence (essential)
  • Current ChemCert (or willingness to obtain)
  • Post-secondary qualifications in viticulture or horticulture (not essential)
