The company has a long-established reputation for supplying quality produce in both domestic and export markets.


This company is currently seeking a well-organised person with sound leadership skills and previous citrus packing shed experience to manage their citrus packing facility to ensure quality standards and ensure production targets are achieved.

The prime function of this role is to be responsible for the profitable and sustainable operation of the business by ensuring facilities, equipment and stock levels are maintained to a high standard.

The Packhouse Manager is directly accountable for:

  • Planning and coordinating facility usage in coordination with the COO
  • Assisting with budget preparation and planning facility requirements
  • Developing sound cost-effective operational procedures and logistics to ensure no wastage of recourses
  • Ensuring facility equipment is maintained
  • Managing unplanned repairs
  • Planning capital and process improvements for buildings and machinery in consultation with the Operations Manager and Packhouse Technical/Mechanical
  • Controlling expenditure on equipment
  • Co-ordinating with Supervisors to ensure adequate levels of stock are maintained
  • Maximising productivity of the packhouse team
  • Optimising returns from the packing operations
  • Adhering to food safety protocols
  • Managing the cleaning of production lines and general packing shed
  • Providing leadership in all aspects of Quality Assurance

Skills and Experience

  • We are seeking a well-organised, team focussed person with good communication skills and natural leadership qualities.
  • Previous experience with citrus packing operations and team management is essential.
  • Post-secondary qualification in horticulture production or front-line management would be highly regarded.


Total salary package circa $120,000 based on skills and experience
