Job Description LABOR REPRESENTATIVE / INTERNAL ORGANIZER

Location: Northern California, Southern California, or Chicago


The position of Labor Representative/Organizer in the Collective Bargaining department is open for appointment. The position is full-time.


This position will include aspects of both an Organizer and a Labor Representative:


    • Organizers are responsible for helping to develop the RN organizing committee at a hospital, and helping nurses win their representation election in the face of an intense antiunion employer campaign, organizing for actions including strikes, running membership drives, a and developing leadership.

    • Labor Representatives are responsible for all matters related to collective bargaining, including organizing nurses in private and public employment; compiling, analyzing, interpreting and presenting pertinent data; negotiating all issues on behalf of nurses in assignment; processing grievances and conducting arbitrations; and representing nurses in employment-related problems.


Though Labor Rep experience is preferred, not required and will train for this position. This position could require travel, multiple worksite locations and working evenings and weekends.


Valid driver’s license and insured car required. Ability to speak one of the following languages a plus: Tagalog, Ilocano, Illonggo.
