Established in 1988, Thomas Foods International (TFI) has successfully grown to become Australia’s largest 100% family owned food production company. In recent years, the company has expanded to incorporate fresh produce, offering customers a wider variety of premium food.

Thomas Foods International Fresh Produce (TFIFP), the horticultural division of TFI, have acquired several properties (1400ha) dedicated to growing potatoes across South Australia. To manage overall field production the company is seeking a leader with sound farm management experience who will share the TFI vision of never losing sight of the organisation’s rich heritage and exacting standards of food quality.


Reporting to the Farming Operations Manager the Regional Farm Manager will be responsible for all aspects of farm production and the logistics of day to day operations across the key growing regions of South Australia. Having direct leadership of the Farm Management team, the role will be instrumental in the development, implementation and management of farm production to obtain optimal sustainable yields and the best quality to meet market demands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, strategy and direction to Farm Managers and the Farm teams
  • Develop and implement planting and harvest schedule
  • Assist in sourcing properties for acquisition or lease purposes
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Manage administrative and record keeping tasks related to assigned farms
  • Implements and model a strong WH&S&IM culture
  • Provide and maintain effective preventative maintenance programs

Skills and Experience

  • Practical experience of broad acre irrigated crops or commercial vegetable production
  • Minimum five years’ experience in a senior farm management role
  • Strong leadership skills and experience working in a team environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Higher level computer skills with spreadsheets or management software


  • Tertiary qualifications in Agriculture / Horticulture are preferred
