Human Resources Business Partner – Buffalo Grove, IL

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works with the HR team and local operational leadership to develop and implement programs to maximize employee engagement, performance and development
  • Works with leadership to develop and execute Buffalo Grove labor relations strategies that achieve operational objectives, advance company business priorities, promote positive company-union relations, and increase employee engagement
  • Lead grievance hearings and provide necessary support and preparation during arbitrations
  • Provide leadership and guidance to managers regarding the application and interpretation of human resources practices, policies, and procedures
  • Coach and counsel management and hourly employees regarding policies and procedures, discipline, interpersonal and teamwork opportunities
  • Develops and administers training and employee development programs
  • Leads the talent acquisition process for Buffalo Grove
  • Prepares and updates job descriptions, develops Targeted Selection interview guides
  • Conducts employment interviews, reference checks, background checks, drug screens, and other screening activities guided by our corporate standards
  • Manage on-boarding activities and follow up with new team members as they integrate into our culture
  • Maintains high levels of engagement with team members at all times using various employment engagement programs and strategies
  • Works with the HR and leadership to develop and administer performance management and compensation programs
  • Coordinate and administer promotions, transfers, wage/salary increases, procedures, and other HR programs in compliance with Corporate HR
  • Assist team members with resources and information on benefits, payroll, etc.
  • Processes new hires for corporate headquarter site. Administers HR changes, timekeeping and required benefits administration into the HRIS system
  • Works with HR leadership to implement and modify various compensation programs as required
  • Works with HR leadership on Buffalo Grove workforce planning and annual budgeting
  • Work with operations to administer safety programs by conducting team member safety trainings, promoting safe working practices, complying with OSHA regulations, and reporting on all accidents and injuries
  • Keeping team members safe is our number one priority
  • Maintain knowledge of company policies and government regulations to ensure company compliance
  • Promote and participate in local community activities to promote positive community relations
  • Engage in other HR activities and special projects as assigned and share best practices across all sites

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; discipline in Human Resources or Business Management preferred
  • Masters in HR or Organizational Development a plus
  • 5-7 years of HR Business Partner generalist experience administering a labor contract, managing performance processes, compensation programs, talent acquisition, talent management and employee engagement programs
  • Fluency in Spanish is required
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • Through knowledge of Microsoft Office (intermediate Excel skills)
  • Experience working with an HRIS solution including processing HR transactions, supporting or processing payroll and benefits
  • PHR or SPHR a plus
