If you are a successful (Senior) Account Executive with a track record of sales success selling complex solutions to SLED, and you are exceptional at prospecting and winning new sales then this position could be for you.

These Account Executive positions will be vertical market specialists for the State, Local & Higher Education (SLED) market. They will be subject matter experts and be responsible for the business development and performance of all sales activities in the local region with a dedicated strategic focus on new business development.

It is expected that the Account Executive will understand all aspects of their vertical market expertise and technical solutions to include industry drivers, business objectives, operational issues, and key attributes of the types of decision makers and influencers. The ability to prioritize and segment customer targets based upon geography, customer characteristics and demographics will be paramount to the success of this position. A successful Account Executive assists with identifying, investigating, and evaluating new business opportunities and alliances that promote the organization's objectives.

The SLED positions are accountable for the development of strong relationships with Convergint’s SLED Nation Team (internal resources), solid partnerships with industry influencers (government consultants, coop partners & manufacturer reps) and alignment with strategic customer clients (end users).

Territory: Los Angeles County, Orange County, San Bernardino County, Riverside County, and Kern County

Industries/Key Clients Selling to: Commercial markets, your relationships

Objectives: This position is an outbound Sales role with direct responsibility for selling Physical & Electronic Security, Fire Alarm & Life Safety, Healthcare Technologies, Mass Notification, and Communications. Integration services to SLED accounts. This is focused on complex deals with multiple decision makers and stakeholders in the client organization and our company.

Responsible for generating new business in new accounts and growing existing accounts in all lines of business. Develops and increases key account relationships to drive increased market share and sales opportunities. Hand off Account Management and lead these teams in your accounts. Continue to support and continue to find and develop new business.


Job Skills Requirements:

  • 7+ years of proven sales success selling complex solutions to SLED and adjacent vertical customers
  • Willingness to travel and work in a global team of professionals
  • Strong prospecting skills for new names and addresses
  • Strong sales skills and ability to uncover effective customer solutions
  • Solid teamwork skills
  • Shows initiative – engages in proactive behavior and looks for opportunities
  • Very adaptable – responds effectively to changes in situation or information; ability to influence others and build consensus using good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of IT networking principles
