Job Description

Senior Benefits Analyst – Memphis, TN

Senior Benefits Analyst plays an integral role in Human Resources. These individual researches, analyzes, and evaluates data that is part of our compensation and benefits programs. This includes medical, dental, multiple life and disability insurance plans, medical and dependent care reimbursement accounts, defined benefits and contribution plans, merit pay plans, bonus plans and executive deferred compensation plans.

This position reports to the Director of Human Resources.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Data, reporting and analytics responsibilities will be required to facilitate collecting, analyzing, and summarizing employee benefit data and trends
  • Aggregates data from various sources as needed to supply data requests from vendors and Company departments
  • Interprets benefit policies, reviews claims and ensures all required forms and legal documents are supplied
  • Handles all government filings and requirements such as the 5500s, 8955-SSAs, PBGC Premiums, Annual Funding Notices and Summary Annual Report
  • Liaises with external audit regarding 401k, pension, and any benefit related matters
  • Tests HRIS system to ensure benefit costs are accurately applied
  • Assists in the preparation and review of reports, charts, datasets, emails, and benefit meeting notes
  • Other work-related responsibilities as assigned by supervisor/manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources or Healthcare, required
  • Five years related experience required; two of which must be in corporate-level benefits
  • Knowledgeable of federal and state laws (ACA, social security administration, Medicare, 401k) required
  • Experience with pension plans, 5500s, 895-5SSa’s and retiree medical highly preferred
  • Experience with ADP or similar HRIS system required
  • Advanced excel skills, including pivot tables and V lookups, required
  • Executive compensation experience preferred
  • Exceptional commitment to detail and accuracy in all levels of work
  • Ability to maintain a high level of integrity in handling confidential and sensitive information
  • Time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize work by managing competing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Ability to travel up to 25% by car or plane required
