Job Description

SAP Program Manager to manage the enterprise implementation of SAP S/4 HANA.

This role requires cross-functional engagement across the organization with Accounting, Finance, Procurement, IT and other key stakeholders to drive success of these strategic initiatives. The role is a combination of strategic leadership and tactical execution in the areas of program management (scope, schedule, budget, risk), cross team collaboration and the synchronization of effort to drive successful and meaningful outcomes. The Program Manager will be expected to manage program status reporting requirements, project and roadmap planning, scheduling, risk and the archiving and sharing of important artifacts and documentation for these initiatives.

This role requires engagement with senior executive, technology leaders, subject matter experts, vendors, and other key stakeholders to facilitate clear understanding of objectives, proactive problem solving, and risk mitigation of key challenges. Building and maintaining collaborative relationships across the organization will be critical to success.

The role requires familiarity and experience managing SAP implementations, business transformations, and ongoing application management. The role requires managing multiple complex projects simultaneously. Candidates will question status quo and drive innovation through the programs and initiatives they are managing.

General Responsibilities:

  • Conducts business process analyses, needs assessments, and cost/benefits analysis to align IT solutions with business initiatives
  • Formulates and defines system scope and objectives for assigned projects
  • Conducts interviews with associates, management, and department leaders to develop clear requirements for enhancements or projects
  • Interacts with senior management, business partners, vendors to manage expectations, prioritize, and negotiate or influence significant matters
  • Oversees and conducts financial planning and budget tracking
  • Sets quality control standards for program documentation
  • Reviews and approves system test plans and system tests modules prior to implementation
  • Reviews, evaluates, and develops recommendations for enhancements and support of applications
  • Drives adoption and buy-in with continuous focus on customer and user experience
  • Works with Business Analysts and programming resources to ensure that system enhancements follow the appropriate IT standards, meet or exceed user requirements, and are completed on time
  • Manage external resources that handle the development, implementation, and hosting of the ERP systems
  • Manages and works to resolve post implementation issues for large/complex projects
  • Assesses changes to scope, issues, and risks that affect projects and presents analysis to senior executive management to gain agreement on the path forward
  • Develops and reviews training plans for new application releases or changes
  • Provides mentorship to Project Managers, Process Owners and Business Analysts

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • 10+ years of SAP IT Project Management experience
  • 1 FLC SAP S/4 HANA Project delivery, new or upgrade
  • 5+ years of experience guiding and facilitating executive level business decisions and performing business analysis in cooperation with SAP and customers
