Our first product MIRAI, a fully AI-driven, trainable, real-time robot controller, is currently being deployed with first European customers and is now ready for broader North American adoption. Job Responsibilities:

You have at least three years of hands-on experience implementing real-world industrial robot applications in actual manufacturing plants. You understand machine tending, assembly, and robotic testing applications. You understand vision systems and know force from torque. You have an engineering degree and are ideally specialized in production automation or industrial robotics. You will work with our technology and learn how to use and adapt it to client-specific tasks. You recognize processes in a manufacturing environment that can be improved upon. You are considered an expert in the industrial automation industry. During an evaluation phase you will design, build and test customer-specific demos in our robot laboratory. You will support our customers when integrating our product into production environments. You will work with customers to solve complex problems, as well as with product management and engineering teams to provide feedback related to future development. You will integrate our vision system / industrial robot technology into customer systems and provide application support as part of the Sales and Account Management team, helping contribute to a positive pre-sales and post-sales experience for prospects and customers alike.

Responsibilities:

• Support the micropsi North American sales team in technical selling and applications development
• Identify possible applications at prospective customers conducive to our industrial robot / machine learning solution
• Perform site survey and analyses to customize applications that respond to customer needs and provide innovative solutions to common problems
• Design and build customer-specific demos in our robot laboratory
• Test and evaluate demos against customer requirements
• Support MIRAI installations in production environments
• Provide feedback to the software development team
• Create and keep product documentation up to date, including best practices and how-to articles
• Develop automation industry contacts
• Attend and present at trade shows and fairs
• Travel as required, possibly 50% or more
• Work independently with a strong startup-mentality while also performing as a team member
• Work within our CRM system to help turn leads into sales
• Report to VP Sales

Must have qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience dealing with industrial robot programming and setup of robot cells and solutions
• Strong understanding of vision systems
• Knowledge of various manufacturing verticals - electronics, aerospace, appliances, food & beverage, renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, automotive, etc.
• BS degree (or at least 7 years practical experience), preferably in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or computer science. MS is a plus
• Knowledge of at least one robot programming language: URScript, RAPID, Karel, etc.
• Capacity to be autonomous, think out of the box, and be creative when facing difficult or unusual situations
• Self-driven, structured, and a team player
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills - this is an outfacing position dealing with customers and you must have excellent verbal and written communication skills

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Ubuntu, navigating in a Bash Shell (to access log files on the box e.g.), Git (to allow to install our data review tools e.g.), Python, Linux, and at least one robot programming language (RAPID, KRL, UR Script/Polyscope)
• Basic understanding of machine learning / AI
