Insurance Verification Specialist Requirements
- Between 3-5 years of medical insurance verification or billing experience required
- Understanding and experience with insurance verification process and associated terminology
- Ability to interpret medical policies
- Customer facing experience
- High energy
- Superb communication skills
- High School Diploma Required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Medical billing / coding certifications preferred
- Previous experience including working knowledge of revenue cycle, medical terminology, and insurance claim filing experience
- Ability to resolve issues quickly and efficiently
- Strong organizational skills and an attention to detail
- Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Insurance Verification Specialist Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for insurance verification and authorization process
- Timely processing of eligibility and benefit verification
- Accurate entry of information
- Customer and sales representative education related to insurance verification's and basic coding and billing for Triad products
- Accurately analyzes medical policy information and payer changes and reports updates and trends as appropriate
- Researches customer and representative reimbursement inquiries
- Maintain and follow policies and procedures
- Maintain efficient tracking and follow-up of pending authorizations to ensure timely resolution
- Perform routine review of outstanding requests
- Maintain confidentiality and privacy of patient information
- Respond to inquiries from insurance companies and providers.
- Serve as point of contact for insurance related questions
