Summerfield & Associates in seeking an Insurance Verification Specialist for a permanent position in Memphis, TN.

Insurance Verification Specialist Requirements

  • Between 3-5 years of medical insurance verification or billing experience required
  • Understanding and experience with insurance verification process and associated terminology
  • Ability to interpret medical policies
  • Customer facing experience
  • High energy
  • Superb communication skills
  • High School Diploma Required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Medical billing / coding certifications preferred
  • Previous experience including working knowledge of revenue cycle, medical terminology, and insurance claim filing experience
  • Ability to resolve issues quickly and efficiently
  • Strong organizational skills and an attention to detail
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Insurance Verification Specialist Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for insurance verification and authorization process
  • Timely processing of eligibility and benefit verification
  • Accurate entry of information
  • Customer and sales representative education related to insurance verification's and basic coding and billing for Triad products
  • Accurately analyzes medical policy information and payer changes and reports updates and trends as appropriate
  • Researches customer and representative reimbursement inquiries
  • Maintain and follow policies and procedures
  • Maintain efficient tracking and follow-up of pending authorizations to ensure timely resolution
  • Perform routine review of outstanding requests
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy of patient information
  • Respond to inquiries from insurance companies and providers.
  • Serve as point of contact for insurance related questions
