Job Description

HR Generalist - Memphis, TN - Perm Position

Our client is seeking a dynamic HR Generalist with excellent skills in finding right-fit employees and providing guidance and support to employees throughout their careers with their company. This individual will primarily support our production environment covering mid-shift and must have the ability to multitask, make decisions, and adapt to a fast-paced environment. To ensure success, the HR Generalist is expected to be a problem solver with solid conflict management capabilities and a deep understanding of employee relations.
In addition, the HR Generalist will perform routine tasks required to administer and execute HR programs, including but not limited to compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes, investigations, talent acquisition, performance management, productivity, recognition, morale, and safety.
The ideal candidate for this position should have experience working in a production or manufacturing environment, be able to commit to a mid-shift schedule and willing to work occasional weekends to support peak season needs and special employee events and activities.

Key Responsibilities

Recruiting and Onboarding
  • Proactively identify, recommend, and execute sourcing methods to attract, hire and retain exceptional candidates.
  • Provide hiring managers with candidates that meet the high standard of quality required to run our organization and meet our strategic goals.
  • Partner with managers to understand their needs and guide them through the interviewing process.
  • Coordinate and communicate with interviewers to ensure a clear understanding of interviewing criteria and objectives.
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews. Ensure location and any required technology for remote/virtual interviews are secured and functional.
  • Positively represent Mimeo and provide applicants with company information, goals, successes, opportunities, and cultural background to develop and solidify interest.
  • Evaluates applicants’ skill level and overall fit against hiring managers' needs through resume screening, phone interviews, and in-person interviews.
  • Act as the liaison between production management and temp agencies.
  • Utilize VMS to maintain accurate tracking of temp activity through posting, approving hires, ensuring timecard approvals, and assisting Managers with questions that they may have in utilizing the platform.
  • Closely partner with the Talent Operations Specialist to ensure smooth pre-employment process (Reference check, background check, drug screening) and onboarding.
  • Conduct new hire orientation and onboarding.
General HR
  • Guide employees and management on personnel policies and procedures.
  • Document and investigate complaints brought forward by employees.
  • Analyze trends in employee complaints & policy violations and recommend preventative solutions.
  • Assist with constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Assist with employee recognition and rewards programs.
  • Assist with maintaining and organizing employee personnel records.
  • Execute mandatory regulatory compliance ​and reporting for all US locations.
  • Prepare termination and severance letters. Assist with the execution of employment terminations.
  • Assist with organizing employee engagement activities, company events, and wellness initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or other related fields.
  • 2+ years of hands-on Human Resources experience (production/manufacturing experience a plus).
  • Experience in full-cycle high velocity recruiting.
  • Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems.
  • Deep understanding of Labor Law and employment equity regulations (New York & Tennessee).
  • Experience with Time & Attendance and HRIS software (ADP Workforce Now preferred).
  • Robust understanding of compensation, benefits administration, and workers’ compensation laws.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Customer-focused with excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.
  • Excellent multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office or Google Suite products.
  • Ability to sit for long periods.
  • Ability to lift to 10 lbs. occasionally.
  • Evening hours and some weekends may be required.
