Position Summary: These Account Executive positions will be responsible for the business development and performance of all sales activities in the local region with a dedicated focus on new clients and new business development.

It is expected that the Account Executive(s) will understand all aspects of their vertical market expertise and technical solutions to include industry drivers, business objectives, operational issues, and key attributes of the types of decision makers and influencers. The ability to prioritize and segment customer targets based upon geography, customer characteristics and demographics will be paramount to the success of this position. A successful Account Executive assists with identifying, investigating, and evaluating new business opportunities and alliances that promote the organization's objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Develops a business plan and sales strategy that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability. Provides input beyond own territories and acts as a subject market expert. Understands industry market pressures and customer business objectives, in-conjunction with alignment of unique/differentiated Convergint value with their operational inefficiencies.

2. Responsible for creating, monitoring, and revising lead generation plans to ensure a substantive sales opportunity pipeline. Finds new and creative ways of engaging with customers. Responsible for capturing the attention of potential customers and presenting new solutions and services.

3. Conducts research and analysis of market / project opportunities consistent with your market/technology strategy, leveraging available market research analytical tools.

4. Prepares action plans for effective search of sales leads and prospects. Develops strategies & underpinning tactics for a successful outcome. Ensures that customers are informed of new product/service introductions and prices.

5. Works in collaboration with the Cooperative Program Managers to develop mutually attainable sales goals and leverages their member base for active business development opportunities. This position leverages the Convergint portfolio of cooperative purchasing programs as an effective means of procurement.

6. Works closely with Sales, Marketing, and Product Management to collaborate on market conditions, pricing issues, competitive trends, and industry relevance.

7. Preparation of proposals/presentations and pro-actively supports cooperative program compliance.

8. Diagnose and respond to client needs, with written & verbal follow-up on all aspects of request.

9. Attends trade shows and industry conferences for educational and customer-oriented purposes.

10. Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.

11. Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in business, engineering or related field or equivalent, relevant experience

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of proven sales experience, including two years successfully selling and managing accounts in verticals including technology/data centers, corporate/enterprise, healthcare, education, transportation, General Contractors, etc.
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements within the designated vertical market
  • Ability to drive sales activity and close rate.
