Job Description

ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN – MEMPHIS, TN

To perform laboratory tests following industry standards and guidelines, which contribute to the planning and execution of engineering projects. To aid in the development of new tests to solve technical problems when existing standards are inadequate.

RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Performs laboratory tests using industry standards and guidelines to ensure proper functionality of parts during the creation phase
  • Designs, manufactures, and operates test fixtures and other tools used to aid in testing and data collection
  • Maintains laboratory equipment and determines when equipment requires unscheduled maintenance
  • Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations
  • Assists with concept development, design, and drafting of production parts and/or assemblies
  • Supports the Quality and Production departments by inspecting products and processes for technical issues and errors, and identifying areas of improvement
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities, as assigned
  • Travel <5%

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree in Engineering or experience in lieu
  • One (1) to two (2) years of experience in related discipline
  • Self-starter that can work in an independent manner
  • Computer proficient in Microsoft Office and Basic LabVIEW; detailed and comprehensive report writing
  • Solid modelling and drafting skills (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Knowledge of and experience with measurement techniques, machining, fabrication, electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization and achieve cultural change in the face of potential resistance
  • Excellent multitasking, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to lift to 40 pounds
  • Keep abreast of the latest trends/developments in Quality, Safety, and Environmental practices through regular formal training
