Job Description:
The Boarding Agents are mainly responsible for accomplishing boarding and husbanding duties as assigned by the Marine Agent responsible for those vessels.
Key Responsibilities:
Agent functions:
• Boarding and husbanding vessels
• Work with principals, terminal operators, stevedores, port authorities, government officials and other parties to ensure safe and efficient practices
• Act as a liaison between the Ship’s Master/Crew with government authorities, local pilots, terminal operators, port authorities, stevedores, etc. when required
• Assist with crew-change and crew-transportation
• Assist in the delivery of owners’ items to vessel

Qualifications:
• Local experience in the maritime shipping industry is preferred
• Fluency in English (written and spoken); additional languages an asset
Skills & Knowledge:
• High level time management, communication and organizational skills
• Adhere to and promote health and safety guidelines in the workplace

Compensation:
• $60,000 to $70,000 per year

Working Conditions:
Remote position, with travel to site, as well as in an office environment. Must be able to crouch and stoop to get into areas with restricted headroom, to climb ladders and to lift and carry 50-75 lbs. Exposed to odors, dust, dirt, mechanical hazards, high noise levels and potentially hazardous equipment. Ability to board vessels in rough weather and sea conditions. Long hours, ability to travel, weekend duties and 24-hour “on-call” status are essential job requirements. Must comply with all work rules, including those that pertain to safety and health.
