Position Summary: Responsible for the business development and performance of all sales activities in assigned market with a focus on new business development for Digital Transformation. Ability to create and sell an ROI, and have the ability to speak the language of IT departments and business leaders in both a technical and business manner. Establishes plans and strategies to expand the customer base in the marketing area and contributes to the development of training and educational programs for Account Executives. Focus will be partner, vertical market or solution based – pending the respective GTM strategy to grow the business

Job Responsibilities:

1. Identify market adjacencies to extend Convergint’s market leadership in computer vision technology beyond our traditional security and life safety customers

2. Help clients understand the transformative nature of AI based computer vision solutions and how they can reduce costs, increase profits, or achieve other business outcomes

3. Co-author Go To Market Strategies with key technology partners such as Nvidia, Intel, Dell, Microsoft, AWS, and other strategic partners to increase advancing computer vision solutions using artificial intelligence and machine learning

4. Support sales and operational resources at Convergint Technology Centers to ensure successful adoption of new technologies that use AI, machine learning, Cloud computing, and similar disruptive technologies.

5. Identify market adjacencies to extend Convergint’s market leadership in computer vision technology beyond our traditional security and life safety customers

6. Initiates and coordinates development of action plans to penetrate new markets.

7. Conducts one-on-one reviews with all Account Executives to build more effective communications, to understand training and development needs, and to provide insight for the improvement of Account Executive’s sales and activity performance. Provides feedback to senior management regarding performance. Managerial responsibilities include but are not limited to: mentoring, coaching and developing colleagues; planning, assigning and directing work; performance management; project budget.

8. Works with team to provide competitive pricing on proposals and strives to maintain maximum profit margin.

9. Creates and conducts proposal presentations and RFP responses. Assists Account Executives in preparation of proposals and presentations.

10. Manages budget and improves forecasting accuracy for sales function and projects, ensures cost efficiency

11. Collaborates with Convergint colleagues (Ops, Legal, Finance etc.) to ensure jobs are planned and executed properly.

12. Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.

13. Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in business, engineering or related field or equivalent, relevant experience

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of five years of successful sales experience, including two years in the area of commercial (electronic security, fire alarm, BAS, healthcare technologies) required
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements
  • Willingness to travel and work in a global team of professionals
  • Proven leadership and ability to drive sales teams

Certifications & Licenses:

Industry-specific certifications a plus; must have valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Protective Clothing Required:

The position may on occasion require Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, steel-toed shoes or work boots, etc.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the colleague is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk or hear; uses hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls. On occasion, the colleague may be required to climb and work in high places, stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

The position is a virtual-based position with visits to customers and work sites in the field. The colleague regularly performs work-related travel 25%-50%.
