Vice President of Sales / National Director of Sales

Sequence has been exclusively retained and is currently searching for a Vice President for one of the nation’s most innovative players who is disrupting the construction site services marketplace.

Our client, an equity backed organization, with one of the nation’s largest networks of construction site services offerings (dumpster, portable toilet/sanitation stations, storage, equipment, etc.), is seeking a key individual to strategize, build out, and lead sales efforts as well as personally develop larger enterprise level customers.

This is currently the niche industry’s highest-profile position of its kind.

Beyond proven sales, marketing, and client relationship abilities, experience would ideally include a previous background in construction site services or related products/services offerings in a transferrable industry domain. While this is a specialized industry, and knowledgebase is important, the organization has had success bringing in sales talent that was able to learn their niche business. That in mind, any candidate with the applicable skills and abilities will be considered.

The operation has multiple onshore and offshore sales personnel, requiring a capable sales leader that can not only personally lead efforts, but train and drive results. Specifically, on the National Level with B2B sales focused on penetration of national accounts. Primarily to facilities managers and key executive decisionmakers. So this is a role which bridges B2C and B2B clientele.

  • Has passion for leading, coaching and developing sales teams
  • Possess a strong understanding of the key performance metrics that drive sales success
  • Demonstrated success leading sales teams to exceed expectations, enjoys doing so, and thrives in a market with many opportunities.

Key Responsibilities and Duties Include:

  • Possess Industry domain knowledge or has the ability to gain high-level industry knowledge quickly.
  • Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for territory
  • Owning and meeting/exceeding annual sales targets
  • Creating, developing and executing a strategic plan for Account Managers to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base
  • Responsible for continuing to build out National Sales Team
  • Building long term client relationships in conjunction with the Sales Team
  • Partner with customers to understand their business needs and objectives
  • Coach Account Managers to effectively communicate the value proposition through proposals and presentations
  • Understand the competitive landscape and market trends
  • Work closely with colleagues on cross-territory opportunities and other internal teams on marketing materials and cause studies
  • Streamline and document sales process

This role would be an opportunity for a more senior professional that is looking to find a stable long-term home with an enthusiastic, ambitious, and hard-working staff that has built a positive and empowering corporate culture. This could also be an ideal fit for a dynamic mid-level sales professional looking to make a move to executive management where they could be growing and develop out a sales practice. The post requires previous experience as a sales executive, sales manager, or sales and marketing director with proven ability to meet and exceed targets with B2B sales of national accounts in additional to knowledge of B2C clientele.

The position could be slated anywhere in domestic United State, with preference being in the CT or ET time zones. It would require travel throughout the nation to client locations for sales/customer relationship efforts as applicable.
