Vehicle Accident Reconstructionist / Forensic Consultant
Sequence has been retained and is currently seeking an Vehicle Accident Reconstructionist / Forensics Consultant for one of the southeastern United States leading forensic firms specializing in vehicle accidents.
The company, with several branches and satellite office operations throughout United States, has tasked us with finding them a key individual that can join the practice as an employee and immediately engage on project efforts here in Florida.
Now over 25 years old, they are known for specializing in digital forensics and reconstruction of vehicular collisions with a focus on tractor-trailer events. So, they have undertaken thousands and thousands of notable accidents involving cars, tractor-trailers, pedestrians, bicyclists, motorcycles, heavy trucks, etc.
The organization normally develops in experts in the operation and then builds market practice around them. This includes ongoing marketing and project support that normally results in professionals additionally developing their own internal clientele over time.
Beyond more traditional accident reconstruction, of note is the firms specialization with downloading and analyzing leading-edge digital forensics data from tractor-trailer and automobile electronic data recorders (ECM, EDR, SDM, ACM, CDR, black boxes, etc.), cell phones and smartphones, video event data recorders (DriveCam, SmartDrive, etc.), heavy truck telematics systems, Garmin and other personal GPS based devices, ABS systems (Bendix, Wabco, etc.), and numerous other devices.
Combined with their other expertise, the firm has carved out a niche practice inspecting and documenting the condition of braking systems on tractor-trailers and heavy trucks to determine their existing braking capability and applying that to the specifics of a particular collision. The organization utilizes everything from 3-D laser scanners, total stations, and digital cameras to coefficient of friction accelerometers to document the roadway and accident scene evidence. They also focus on black box technology to document all of the damage to the vehicles and to preserve crucial electronic data that they may contain.
- The essential functions of the role we are seeking generally revolve around:
- Conducting inspections of accident sites and involved vehicles
- Downloading and analyzing vehicle electronic (EDR) crash data
- Analyzing case information
- Performing vehicle accident reconstructions
- Preparing reports
- Testifying as needed in deposition and/or trial
Ideally, this would be with 5+ years of vehicle accident reconstruction experience. A strong plus for consideration would be background with truck accidents and brake systems analysis, vehicle electronic (EDR) crash data, and having served as a subject matter expert.
