Temporary Staff
NPN is currently seeking candidates to add to our pool of temporary employees.
NPN maintains a pool of temporary employees that are open to Development and Administrative roles in a nonprofit. We cannot guarantee a position, but we are always talking with nonprofits and building contract relationships for work.
The most common positions are Database Management, Data Entry, Event Logistics and Support, and Development Associate or Coordinator positions (letters, appointments, supporting staff) as well as Executive Administrator and Finance support roles.
Required Skills:
Temporary employees cover a wide-range of skills and support for a nonprofit, so the variety of skills needed vary from position to position.
Database Roles
- 6 months to 1-year experience with data entry and specific systems. More experience is better.
Non Database Roles
- 1+ years experience in other areas of fundraising—event, annual fund, donor stewardship, etc. if not looking for a database role.
- Other work experience or training that is applicable to the nonprofit sector.
Other Qualifications:
- Good references from previous employers for working independently, asking solid questions, good customer service skills
- Able to work 15-30 hours per week for 3 months. We know that some positions require less hours.
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check.
Compensation: $18/hr and up, depending on the experience level needed.
Benefits: Paid sick time (per Oregon state law); Up to 24 hours of paid vacation annually; 401(k) retirement plan w/employer match (must meet eligibility requirements)
Status: These are hourly, part-time, temporary positions. NPN is the employer, not the nonprofit.
Hours: Work is generally 10-25 hours per week. Contracts may last from 2 weeks to 6 months, depending on the project and work needed.
Location: Various. Work may be remote or in person.
If you are interested in applying to participate in the NPN pool of temporary staff, please submit a resume and cover letter. In your cover letter please indicate the type of position you'd be interested in as well as any preferences for hours per week and remote vs in person work.
