THIS IS AN EXCELLENT OPPORTUNITY FOR A TERRITORY SALES MANAGER WITH EXPERIENCE IN RESIDENTIAL FURNITURE OR HOME FURNISHINGS TO TAKE ON RESPONSIBILITY FOR TERRITORY SALES AND GROWTH IN SOUTHWESTERN ONTARIO. THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE A RESIDENCE IN THE LONDON / KITCHENER AREA.

Note that the employer is well established and well known in SW Ontario. They need, therefore more of a “farmer” than a “hunter” type of salesperson, to maintain and nurture existing relationships with their retailer clients.

Candidates may come from Sales Managers (title may vary) in a similar role in a manufacturing company producing and selling related products to the retail industry (such as furniture, fixtures, lighting, home decor, fabric, upholstered product, etc.).

The employer will also consider Store Managers and their direct supervisors (e.g. Regional Managers) from within the furniture industry.

LOCATION:

Territory covered - Southwestern Ontario – Guelph through Windsor.

Work from home position; the job requires traveling 3 to 5 days per week.

As the territory runs from Guelph to Windsor, residing in or around London or Kitchener-Waterloo is a likely scenario.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Our client is a successful Canadian manufacturer of high end furniture for the residential market. They manufacture their furniture to order, which is sold to consumers through appropriately positioned retailers of all sizes (from large retail chains to specialized boutiques), not only in Canada, but also across the USA and in other international markets (Europe, Latin America, Middle East…)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Sales Senior Manager, the Territory Sales Manager is responsible for maintaining and increasing business within their assigned territory with the existing account base (home decor and furniture retailers) and with new accounts that they develop.

This position requires intensive traveling including overnights to cover the territory and visit all existing clients and business prospects.

REQUIREMENTS:

Successful experience in a similar role within a manufacturing company who manufactures related products sold by the retail industry (furniture, fixtures, lighting, home decor, fabric, upholstered product, etc.).

Demonstrated sales, training, communications and customer handling skills. Superior sales skills are essential and mandatory.

Fashion oriented, able to communicate concepts in this field.

Willing to travel as much required by duties.

Flexible for occasional week end work (trade shows, conventions, etc.).

Skills and Experience Sought:

Excellent listening, selling and closing skills.

Experience, working the front line (meeting with clients)

Demonstrated track record in achieving sales quotas and having a results oriented attitude.

Proficiency in personal one-on-one marketing, experience in building trust and maintaining long term relationships.

Excellent verbal and communication skills.

Co-operative term player with an unwavering focus on customer service.

Well organized so that the paperwork flowing from a successful sale can be effectively dealt with by the employer’s back-office infrastructure.

Assertive, confident, enthusiastic and have a passion for sales and entrepreneurial spirit.

Able to work independently to meet objectives, goals and timelines.

Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Compensation is negotiable based on the candidates’ business profile and experience and given market rates.
