TECHNICAL SALES CONSULTANT – CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION – INFRASTRUCTURE AND INDUSTRY

THE OPPORTUNITY:

The employer we are recruiting for delivers cost effective solutions in concrete construction, in particular, in formwork, scaffolding and related engineering initiatives geared toward the Infrastructure and Industrial construction segments.

LOCATION:

Manitoba or Saskatchewan – preferably close to major population areas – Winnipeg, Saskatoon or Regina.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Identify and pursue major infrastructure/industrial projects and smaller regional projects in the territory – Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

Identify potential customers and a FOCUS on establishing and maintaining relationships with engineering firms, general contractors, formwork contractors and market influencers.

Meet with potential customers to review project needs.

Assist customers to properly understand and interpret invoices to ensure that customers follow-through with payments.

Document upcoming and existing projects to build a solid pipeline through the company CRM.

Business development of multi-segment contractors (in cooperation with the regional TSC when working with existing accounts).

Create high quality quotes, including 3D models and/or animations with the support of Engineering and Marketing departments.

Calculate prices for formwork and scaffolding solutions to provide the safest and most cost-effective solution for customers.

Manage long term sale cycles by planning strategic client meetings and presentations to influence bids.

Determine and meet decision makers during tender process and understanding their requirements/needs.

Develop and implement customer specific strategies aligned with the overall strategy of the company.

Negotiating contracts for a win-win result by leveraging a consultative approach that maximizes value for the customers and their projects.

Collaborate with other departments to ensure that the Company delivers a positive customer experience.

Conduct Lunch & Learn sessions for but not limited to potential customers, Engineering firms, industry associations, etc.

Ensure that projects are executed properly by providing on site job support and coordination of internal communications to ensure the Company’s brand is trusted for integrity, professionalism, and expertise.

Communication with the Regional Manager regarding projects and activities to ensure optimal effectiveness and success.

Engage in ongoing market research to stay up to date with trends, changes, and growth activity within territory.

Pursue revenue-generating endeavors and introduce new product/solutions/approaches to the market.

Through an entrepreneurial spirit, you actively pursue revenue-generating endeavors.

Prioritize health and safety, use personal protective equipment when required, report hazards and accidents.

Other related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

A post-secondary education (a degree in Engineering or Construction related is a plus) or field experience in the construction industry.

4 years+ of experience in sales/project management or 3 years+ of experience in formwork/scaffolding/construction industry.

Technical knowledge of scaffolding and formwork products and tools and their use is an asset.

Ability to understand and read engineered structural drawings is an asset.

Experience with MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

Fluent in English, additional languages are an asset.

COMPENSATION:

This position is full time and permanent.

Compensation is competitive and includes a base salary commensurate with experience plus an incentive, pension and benefits.
