Senior – Accounting and Financial Reporting (Social, Climate & Equity)

Work you will do
As a Senior in Social, Climate and Equity (SC&E) Compliance Reporting, you will play a critical role in ensuring our firm meets its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) regulatory reporting obligations. You will be responsible for analyzing data, establishing processes and enhancing our reporting compliance initiatives, working closely with various stakeholders to drive our sustainability agenda. Your specific responsibilities include:
- Support the development and maintenance of ESG compliance reporting frameworks and processes.
- Analyze ESG data and metrics to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather relevant data and insights for ESG reporting.
- Support identification and recommendation of process improvements to increase efficiency in ESG reporting.
- Assist in the implementation of automated systems or tools to improve ESG reporting and tracking.
- Support preparation of comprehensive reports for stakeholders, including senior management and regulatory bodies.
- Support year-end closing procedures and ESG audits.
- Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes related to ESG compliance.
- Provide guidance and support to teams on ESG best practices and compliance requirements.
- Assist in the development of training materials and workshops on ESG compliance.
- Monitor and respond to ESG data requests from external stakeholders.
The Team
The Financial Reporting group has a view of the overall Firm and works closely with US Firms’ Controllership and Growth and Purpose Office and others within Finance and Administration. The group is a hub for the Firm’s compliance reporting and works with several other groups to ensure the books and records of the firm are recorded and reported on efficiently and accurately. This position may be fulfilled remotely and does not require significant travel.
Qualifications Required
- Technical High School degree or equivalent for Costa Rica
- Minimum of 3+ years of relevant professional experience
- Strong orientation towards Compliance reporting
- Experience with financial reporting or assurance activities including internal and/or operational audit
- Demonstrate problem solving skills
- Strong English and Spanish verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels
- Willingness to expand skillset and work on other related areas
- Must be legally authorized to work in the Costa Rica without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Sustainability certification (e.g., GRI or SASB’s Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting credential a plus) or CPA with relevant sustainability experience.
- Knowledge of SAP and HANA reporting or similar accounting software a plus.
- Understanding of ESG-related standards and frameworks including GHG Protocol, SASB, GRI, and TCFD
- Bachelor’s degree/CPA preferred
