Must
be able to obtain a Secret Clearance
Responsibilities
of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Perform
research, design, and development in such areas as mechanical, thermal,
hydraulic, thermodynamic, or heat transfer for production, transmission,
measurement, and use of energy.

Apply
research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or
electro mechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.

Preparing
Additional Work Requirements project files including Statement of Requirements
justification, business case analysis, cost estimates, final design drawings
and specifications for systems such as: HVAC, Water, Wastewater, Bulk Fuel and
Power Generation.

Provide
liaison functions with project stakeholders and the North Warning System
Office, including:

Answering
technical and procedural questions to support design related items; and,
periodic interactions with subcontractors and equipment manufacturers to
resolve specific design and support requirements.

Providing
staff technical and project design support; and, work with other team members
to support the Operations and Maintenance of mechanical systems.

Occasional
travel to remote areas of Canada's Arctic to perform on-site engineering
investigations is required.

Performing
other duties as assigned, which are unplanned or transient in nature.
Desired
Skills & Experience
-
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a
minimum 5 years' related experience.

Experience dealing with acquisitions by the
Canadian Department of National Defense (CDND).

Cultural awareness and sensitivity and an
understanding of work in the Canadian Arctic.

Thorough knowledge of mechanical distribution
systems and a working knowledge of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act,
API codes and standards, the National Masters Specification, Canadian Water
Quality Standards, HVAC systems and the Canadian National Building Code.

Proficiency with MS Word and Excel; self-motivated
and highly organized to keep track of multiple projects; possess strong
analytical, communication and report writing skills as well as professional and
friendly demeanor.

Adaptability and ability to manage multiple
priorities and work cross-culturally within the Canadian Arctic.

Successful candidates will be required to complete
a criminal reference check and pass a security clearance check to a secret
level through the Canadian Government.
