Mechanical Designer

We are recruiting for the following employment opportunity:

Electrical Mechanical Designer

Our client designs and manufactures power and distribution transformers, preventive auto transformers, transit rectifier power transformers and transformer rectifiers for electrostatic precipitators. Reporting to the General Manager, this position would be responsible to provide mechanical information and design expertise, generate approval drawings, provide bills of materials and component drawings, adhere to relevant ISO quality procedures, achieve targets for key measurables

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Convert customer and marketing needs into product designs
• Consult with team members on product designs
• Provide the manufacturing team with accurate and timely mechanical information
• Generate approval drawings
• Perform mechanical stress loadings, stress calculations and calculations on transformer designs
• Develop inspection and test plans, bills of material and mechanical and electrical parameters
• Conducts peer reviews of designs for manufacturability and accuracy
• Use Automated Design Techniques (AutoLisp, Excel and Solidworks Automation)
• Obtain clarification of design requirements from the President

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following skills, attributes, and experience:

• 5+ years of experience in as a Mechanical Design Technologies
• Certified Mechanical Design Technologist
• Above average experience in metal fabrication methods and welding techniques
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, AutoCad 2010 and Solidworks
