Position: Marina Manager

Location: Panama

Reports to: General Director

Job Summary: The Marina Manager will be responsible for effectively managing, and operating the facilities of this marina located in Panama. The Marina Manager must ensure an efficient operation of the facilities, maximize the potential of the facilities, ensure that all docks and facilities are well-maintained and safe, oversee the rental services of marina spaces, and ensure that clients comply with all regulations. The ideal candidate must speak and write perfect English and Spanish and be available to work irregular hours, including some weekends and holidays.

A. Functions and Responsibilities

  1. Management

    • Establish goals and objectives for the marina, including budgets for all its services, customer service, and employee management, and formulate strategies to achieve these objectives.

    • Develop policies and processes that help improve the profitability of the business.

    • Provide monthly and annual financial statements on the entire business operation

      and their respective KPIs.

    • Implement systems and processes that offer the highest level of professionalism

      and customer service to clients, tenants, and contractors of the marina.

    • Manage employees effectively according to company policies.

    • Coordinate marina operations to ensure maximum utilization of available docks.

    • Ensure the profitability and quality of Capital Investment Projects.

    • Optimize the processes used in the company to achieve operational excellence.

    • Maintain accurate records of the boats using the marina, including required

      documentation and payments.

  2. Customer Service

    • Provide a high level of customer service, assisting customers with their needs and responding to their inquiries.

    • Offer guidance and assistance to new visitors regarding the marina's facilities and services.

    • Handle any conflicts or issues that arise among marina users.

  3. Dock Management

    • Manage the arrival and departure of boats through the Dockmaster, appropriately assigning berthing spaces.

    • Inspect and maintain dock facilities, ensuring they are in good condition and safe for use.

  4. Safety and Compliance

    • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and maritime regulations.

    • Be prepared to respond to emergencies, including fires, fuel spills, and rescue

      situations.

    • Conduct regular inspections of boats and equipment to identify and resolve

      potential safety issues.

5. Environmental Compliance

  • Ensure that waste management and disposal are conducted properly and in an environmentally friendly manner.

  • Implement and supervise practices that minimize the environmental impact of marina operations.

Certified Marina Manager (CMM) (Desirable)

D. Profile, Experience, and Education

  • Education: Professional in administration, engineering, finance. Naval training is

    preferable but not essential. Verifiable experience in similar positions.

  • Experience in Marina Management: At least 3-5 years of experience in marina

    management or roles related to dock and boat operations.
