JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Impulse, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Manager in Sterling Heights, MI. Our client is a leading metal stamping manufacturer supporting the automotive industry with high-volume production. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance team, ensuring all stamping presses, support equipment, and facility systems operate safely and efficiently with minimal downtime.


Responsibilities of a Maintenance Manager include:

  • Supervise, train, and lead a team of maintenance technicians in a metal stamping facility.

  • Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs for stamping presses and automation equipment.

  • Troubleshoot and repair high voltage electrical systems, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

  • Manage Fanuc PLC troubleshooting, programming, and integration for presses and robotics.

  • Ensure safe operation and upkeep of large stamping presses, transfer systems, and tooling.

  • Coordinate equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and compliance documentation.

  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.

  • Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and vendor service contracts.

  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture and ensure OSHA compliance.


Job Requirements of a Maintenance Manager:

  • Strong background in metal stamping press maintenance and repair.

  • Proficiency with Fanuc PLCs (troubleshooting, programming, modifications).

  • Hands-on expertise in high voltage electrical systems (480V+).

  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and automation in stamping environments.

  • Proven leadership skills managing maintenance teams.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.


REQUIRED Experience and Education:

  • 5+ years of maintenance leadership or management experience in a metal stamping facility.

  • Technical degree, electrical/mechanical apprenticeship, or equivalent experience in industrial maintenance.

  • Strong electrical background with proven ability in high voltage troubleshooting and repair.

    • Experience with press systems, Fanuc controls, and robotic automation.
