Information Assurance Engineer

Job Purpose

Information Assurance Engineer will be responsible for the Accreditation Process of FACET System, creation and maintaining documentation for Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) process.

Duties and Responsibilities

The job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Primary Responsibility:

  • Review certification and accreditation packages for compliance with DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP).

  • Develop and implement security designs for new or existing network system(s); ensures that the design of hardware, operating systems, and software applications adequately address IA security requirements.

  • Assess the effectiveness of information protection employed.

  • Provide engineering support to security and certification tests as well as evaluation activities.

  • Identifying and understanding the requirements of the clients with respect to the database administration system that needs to be developed.

  • Testing the system at each stage of the development phase and identifying bugs in the system which could result in negative user experience.

  • Document and maintain all required documentation for the DIACAP process and Risk Management Framework (RMF).

    Secondary Responsibility:

  • Create access database and generate reports for various data tables.

  • Analyze data from various data source and create and system metrics reports to Management team.

  • Other duties, as assigned or required by the client.

     

    Qualifications

    Minimum Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Cyber Security and three (3) years of relevant experience.

  • Five (5) years of directly related experience engineering and securing DoD systems and, demonstrated experience with computer security, military system specifications, DoD IA policies, network and systems configuration and administration.

    Minimum Certifications:

  • Valid Information Assurance Technical Level II (IAT-2) or Information Assurance Management Level II (IAM-2).

  • Valid OS or networking certifications per DoD 8570.01-M

  • Valid CompTIA Security+

    Minimum Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities:

  • Must have a current Secret clearance. Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must have a valid/current driver’s license.

  • Demonstrated experience in the DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP), Platform IT (PIT), and the implementation of Cyber Security and IA boundary defense techniques and various IA-enabled appliances, and the ability to communicate clearly and succinctly in written and oral presentations.

  • Prior experience in the field of Microsoft Access development is considered to be a valuable trait during a candidate's selection for this position.

  • Demonstrated conceptual understanding of databases including data structures and data flows.

  • Ability to work within a team to meet established project goals.

  • Ability to communicate professionally, concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to generate technical, but user-friendly procedural documents

    Preferred or nice to have Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities:

  • Prior Navy S1, S2, S6 or S8 experience preferred with experience in the Logistics field.

  • Experience in the information technology or software development industries. Specifically, in Document Management industry.

  • Experience with Kofax Capture software.

  • Experience with ACAS, VRAM, eMASS, STIGs, DITPR-DON, and DADMS systems.

  • Ability to manage deliverables during all phases of the product development life cycle.

  • Ability to work independently and as a member or leader of a team with minimal supervision
