Focus:
- Develop, nurture, and grow relationships with commercial and residential electrical contractors and regional lighting distributors.
- Identify and execute strategies to capture new business opportunities within target accounts.
- Conduct product presentations, in-field demonstrations, and solution-based selling to contractor and distributor partners.
- Provide timely and consultative support around product performance, application fit, and technical specifications.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal sales, operations, and marketing teams to meet territory growth goals.
- Monitor local market trends and competitor activity to maintain a competitive edge.
- Represent the brand at local trade shows, distributor counter days, and industry networking events.
- Deliver clear, impactful sales presentations and contribute to go-to-market strategy development.
Skill Set:
- 3+ years of experience in outside sales, ideally with a background in the electrical or lighting industry.
- Established relationships with contractors and distributors within the construction or building materials sector is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of the contractor sales process and distributor partnership models.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence decision-makers at all levels.
- Proficiency in managing a sales funnel and utilizing CRM platforms for tracking pipeline activity.
- Highly self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently within a defined territory.
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field preferred.
- Must be based in the Indianapolis area and open to limited regional travel.
