Position Overview:
Our client, a nationally recognized retirement services organization, is seeking experienced Compliance Analysts to support defined contribution plan administration and ERISA compliance. This role focuses on advanced compliance testing, regulatory filings, and supporting plan consultants with complex operational and regulatory matters.
The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on ERISA compliance experience, including Form 5500 preparation and employer contribution calculations. This role requires analytical depth, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to consult internally on complex plan design and compliance issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform compliance testing and annual valuation reporting for assigned plans.
- Prepare and review Form 5500 filings and related schedules.
- Analyze and interpret plan documents to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Apply IRS, DOL, and ERISA regulations in preparing compliance deliverables.
- Support large plan and audit-related compliance requirements.
- Assist plan consultants with operational and compliance issue resolution.
- Draft and review plan amendments and related documentation.
- Track deadlines and monitor progress to ensure timely completion of compliance work.
- Conduct employer contribution calculations, including:
- Standard Allocation Method
- Permitted Disparity Method
- Age-Based Method
- New Comparability Method (preferred)
- Perform quality assurance reviews.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive client data.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 5+ years of hands-on ERISA compliance experience preferred.
- Strong experience with compliance testing and Form 5500 preparation.
- Experience supporting audit-sized larger plans.
- Experience with employer contribution calculations required.
- Experience with New Comparability Method strongly preferred (required for top compensation range).
- Client consulting experience (internal and external consultation).
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience using retirement plan administration software (ASC, Relius, FTW, or similar).
- QKA designation preferred.
- Progress toward QPA designation preferred.
Required Skills:
- Advanced analytical and financial data analysis skills.
- Strong understanding of ERISA and related regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Problem-solving mindset with ability to interpret complex plan provisions.
