Position Summary:

Backs operations by preparing, monitoring, and upgrading chemical process designs through (chiefly) overseeing capital projects in this chemical plant.

Duties & Responsibilities:

* Determines projects by evaluating alternatives and selecting the optimum solution.
* Prepares project basis documentation by performing cost and economic return studies.
* Develops chemical process design by studying operation ability and reliability; estimates maintenance, operating, and energy costs.
* Assesses safety and environmental compliance, and outlines start-up and operating procedures.
* Obtains environmental permits by completing applications, presenting information, and responding to inquiries and questions.
* Initiates projects by producing capital appropriation requests.
* Upgrades process design by studying proposed modifications in plant operations.
* Prepares operators by conducting training.
* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications.
* Accomplishes engineering and organization mission by achieving related results as needed.

Educational Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering
