CNC Programmer
A boat manufacturer in the Carolinas is looking to hire a CNC Programmer for their Engineering department.
This Company manufactures best-in-class boats ranging from 22-42 ft.
They have four 3-axis routers (brand: Thermwood) for cutting sheet goods, and one 5 axis router for milling plugs (brand: DMS). They also have two CNC fiberglass cutters (brand: Eastman).
The Company wants someone who can learn to program all these machines, but the most complex and important is the 5-axis used in Engineering.
CNC programmer:
CNC Programmer responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines to produce complex parts and components according to precise specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Develop CNC programs using CAM software for 5-axis machining of plugs and molds.
- Interpret technical drawings and CAD models to determine machining operations.
- Set up and configure CNC machine based on job requirements.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and materials for each job.
- Optimize machining processes for cycle time reduction and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues during production.
- Develop CNC programs for 3-axis cutting of sheet goods for patterns and production parts
- Develop CNC programs for cutting roll sheet goods into production materials
- Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and other team members to achieve production goals.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
