Expressions of interest are being invited for a paid Chairperson to oversee the Australian Wool Exchange Board.

Established in 1993, the Australian Wool Exchange (AWEX) is a public company, limited by guarantee, that manages and administers wool marketing.

AWEX functions in a self-regulated marketing environment without input from the Government.

The membership includes wool brokers, exporters, private treaty merchants, processors, wool producers, and associates. The AWEX Board represents each of these classes of membership and is responsible for strategy and policy setting.

Applications are encouraged from suitably qualified individuals who meet the following criteria:
  • Extensive industry experience & knowledge in the wool or agricultural sector
  • Demonstrated experience with stakeholder engagement & corporate branding
  • Previous board participation & sound understanding of corporate governance
  • Experience in media communications & delivery of clear key messages in a controlled manner

Current board size: 6

GAICD status or preparedness to achieve this will be a strong preference, as will be the capacity to apply the appropriate focus and time to the position.
