Job Description
Title: Project Controls Specialist (Active Q Clearance Required)

Employment Type: Full-Time/Contract
Clearance Requirement: Active DOE Q Clearance
Position Overview:
We are seeking highly skilled Project Controls Specialists of all levels to support critical Department of Energy (DOE) projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for cost estimating, scheduling, earned value management (EVMS), and performance analysis for complex projects in a high-security environment. This role requires an active DOE Q Clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, maintain, and analyze integrated project schedules and cost baselines.
• Utilize Earned Value Management System (EVMS) principles to monitor project performance.
• Conduct variance analysis and risk assessments to support decision-making.
• Prepare and present project performance reports, including CPI, SPI, and forecasting metrics.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure project milestones and deliverables are met.
• Support change control processes, ensuring cost and schedule impacts are properly assessed.
• Ensure compliance with DOE requirements, policies, and procedures.
• Utilize project controls tools such as Primavera P6, Cobra, or Deltek Costpoint for cost and schedule management.
Qualifications:
• Active DOE Q Clearance (Required).
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, business, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in project controls, cost estimating, scheduling, or EVMS within DOE, NNSA, or other federal projects.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, Deltek Cobra, or similar project controls software.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in variance analysis and forecasting.
• Familiarity with DOE Order 413.3B, EVMS guidelines, and federal project management frameworks.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills, with the ability to interface with senior management and stakeholders.
Expected Salary Range: $125k - $200k / year (depending on experience level)
