Field Evaluation Specialist

Job Overview
Evaluate, assess and make skilled decisions on electrical products relating to all types of residential, agricultural, commercial, and industrial applications, for compliance with the CSA model code SPE1000, as well as applicable Part II and other standards. Perform all tests as required, record results as per Field Evaluation Services Group (FESG) established processes, and follow-up as required.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Certified Engineering Technician or Technologist
- OR a 442 Industrial Electrician Licence or by having the equivalent level of education.
- OR a 309A Certification.
- Experience in the interpretation and application of the CSA Electrical Standards and the Electrical Safety Code of Ontario.
- Familiarity with the design, manufacture and testing of all types of electrical equipment.
- Experience in the application of materials and equipment.
- Requires extensive experience in electrical approvals work to understand the various rules, regulations, and standards applicable to electrical components.
- Requires experience to understand the issues involved in identifying and evaluating non-conformance and provides expert technical support and guidance on these issues.
- Account management skills, sales, and marketing experience
- Presentation experience
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with the public.
- Experience with hazardous location electrical equipment and installation is an asset.
- Valid Class “G” Driver’s License is required.
