EH&S Manager

Environmental, Health & Safety Manager

The Environmental, Health & Safety Manager (EHS Leader) is responsible for directing and implementing all company environmental, safety, and sustainability programs.

What You Will Do...

  • Plan and execute an EHS strategy
  • EHS assessment and assurance of compliance with applicable laws, regulations, company standards, and commitments.
  • Provide insight, training, and information for manufacturing teams.
  • Development of safety improvement initiatives
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify and control environmental and safety risks
  • Development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS work process.
  • Point of Contact for external regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA, DHS, DOT, etc.)
  • To ensure we continue to implement and advance our company’s environmental, health and safety (EHS) program by assisting the team in building our EHS culture, including maintaining, confirming and improving policies to maintain a safe workplace and protect the environment. As our EH&S manager you must have an excellent attention to detail and ability to identify risks and hazards, and the ability to effectively and proactively communicate established guidelines within the workforce.
  • Assist HR with the management of worker’s compensation claims.
  • Report on environmental, health and safety awareness, issues and actions needed/planned and completed, with a focus on steps taken to prevent any serious injuries or fatalities.
  • Manage the sites’ environmental compliance, including regarding permitting, waste water and storm water discharges, air emissions, hazardous waste and annual reporting.

What You Will Have...

  • Bachelor’s degree in EHS or Related with at least 10 years of relevant EHS experience.
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations relevant to the chemical industry and a working knowledge of EHS principles related to Process Safety, Environmental Management, Security, Transportation, Emergency Response, and Product Stewardship.
  • Registration as a Certified Safety Professional is desired but not mandatory.
  • Ability and willingness to spend time on the shop floor, engaging with employees and "getting your hands dirty"
