We are seeking a Utility Locator to support their internal fiber network across the southern Kentucky route, from Louisville to Bowling Green and down to the Tennessee state line. This role is perfect for a self-starter who enjoys working outdoors, is tech-savvy, and thrives in a hands-on environment.

Territory Includes (Candidates can live anywhere along this route):
Bowling Green, Upton, Whitesville, Morgantown, Caneyville, Irvington, and surrounding areas.

6-month contract (with likely extension and/or conversion to perm)

Pay Rate: $22/hour W2

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Use the UtiliSphere web-based platform via laptop or personal smartphone
• Review, prioritize, and execute fiber locate tickets
• Flag and paint fiber locations for upcoming construction crews
• Walk extensively outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Upload site photos and documentation
• Use a radio detection locator (provided by Lumen)

Top Skills Needed

• Comfortable walking long distances in heat or occasional rain
• Able to navigate web apps, upload images, and manage tasks digitally
• Understanding of electrical tones or previous locate experience is a plus
• Strong sense of independence, time management, and initiative

Training & Support

You’ll work closely with a peer from the Kentucky team to learn Lumen’s fiber locate tools, processes, and mapping systems. Expect full ramp-up within a few months.

Schedule & Work Environment

• Standard hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (some flexibility allowed)
• No nights, weekends, or on-call
• All fieldwork; not suitable for fully remote work from home
