Fantastic opportunity to join Australia's largest Private Hospital Network. We are currently looking for an experienced Nurse Practitioner to lead clinical services in the Rehabilitation Unit. This is a newly created position.


This is one of many private hospitals within this leading healthcare providers network, and consists of 129 inpatient beds, 9 operating theatres and provides general and advanced surgical services, orthopaedic, medical/oncology, Cardiac Services with Cath Lab & CCU/ICU, rehabilitation, a stand-alone Endoscopy Centre and private maternity/obstetric unit.

Located in an idyllic NSW coastal location and less than 2 hours from Sydney, this leading-edge facility is looking to appoint an experienced Nurse Practitioner for its Rehabilitation Unit. The rehab unit has 32 beds, own registrar and 3 dedicated physicians. This will be a Monday to Friday position, with no shift or weekend work.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Critical Care Nursing / NP qualifications
  • Rehabilitation nursing experience (highly desirable but not essential -(Must be able to prescribe)
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Professional, caring and reliable
  • To be able to work professionally and effectively in a team environment.

Typically the rehab patients are post surgical, some cardiac and geriatric.

The role of the Rehab nurse practitioner would include;

  • The day to day management of rehabilitation inpatients, including liaison with relevant specialists
  • Performing admissions and discharge of rehabilitation patients
  • Reviewing hospital inpatients' suitability for a rehabilitation program
  • Provide advanced and extended nursing care to patients, such as ordering diagnostic tests, undertaking diagnosis and health assessments, prescribing patient care management, medicines and therapies, and referring to specialist Medical Practitioners and other Health Professionals.

The current hourly rate is $60.85 which will increase to $62.37 in April in line with the new award, with NP qualification weekly allowance of $76.92 plus superannuation.
