This Manager will provide logistical operation support to US-based manufacturing locations to ensure the transportation, planning and execution process for bulk, direct-to-customer shipments. It is critical that this manager have an effective management relationship with customer care, sales, plant operations, purchasing, third party transportation and logistics service providers. They must support director of supply chain operations to carry out strategic goals and objectives. Performance and results are measured quantitatively.

Job Specifics:

Operational responsibilities to ensure the daily transportation plan is executed, direct-to customer shipments to deliver error free service for our customers

Develop measures, analyze service levels and identify productivity and quality improvements in the logistics operations process

Measure and report on costs and service metrics

Manage third party logistics providers

Manage operations, maintenance and sizing of fleet

The Ideal Candidate:

4 yr. bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience, preferably in business management, logistics, manufacturing and/or transportation operations

Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in supply chain operations, transportation, logistics, manufacturing operations

Excellent verbal and written communications skills to communicate ideas, instructions and information so they are clearly understood by others in formal or informal situations

Project management and leadership skills in order to implement the strategic direction and tactical plans in support of business goals

Demonstrated ability to work independently, to work effectively across functional lines without formal authority, to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and to make consequential decisions

Business analytical skills for identifying trends in service and performance measurements

Competency in data analysis, oral and written communication

Intimate knowledge of and hands-on experience using ERP systems preferably Oracle and TMS applications like Mercury Gate, etc.

Second language preferred but not required
