A start-up drug company is building their initial commercial team and needs a Director of Commercial Operations to set up and run their sales and marketing analytics programs. This growing organization is now publicly traded and has a market cap of $700M. They are developing new therapies in the rare and orphan disease space and will be launching a first-in-class product to treat autoimmune conditions. With three other new molecular entities in Phase II development they have a robust pipeline and now have over 100 employees. This is a ground-floor opportunity in a well-positioned BioPharmaceutical company that is poised for exponential growth. The Role:
Reporting to the Senior VP of Sales and Marketing, the Director of Commercial Operations will develop and execute the analytical programs for all sales and marketing activities. You will create the initial sales force alignment, sales reporting structure, Key Performance Indicator system, and Incentive Compensation program. You will also establish and manage the commercial forecasting process including market sizing, developing the model and managing the annual forecasting process. Other duties include physician and account segmentation, targeting, and patient flow statistics.

The start-up environment means this will be a broadly defined assignment and you will “wear many hats.” The Director will design and lead the data management function, including the procurement, aggregation and reporting of all commercial data. You will serve as the subject matter expert of the commercial Master Data Management plan. You will also work with cross-functional partners to select and implement a CRM system for field-based employees. It will be important to develop a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and create routine competitive updates for key stakeholders. Overnight travel is estimated at 15%.

• 8+ years of sales operations and marketing analytics in the Biopharmaceutical industry
• Expertise in sales force alignments, segmentation and targeting, forecasting, and incentive compensation
• Bachelor’s degree or better; MBA or equivalent preferred
• Excellent analytical and presentation skills, and the interest in working for a small, fast-paced organization without the expanded teams and resources of large pharma

This position will be based in the San Francisco Bay area and will provide an industry leading compensation and equity package.
