A highly profitable Medical Device company in the Bay Area is developing disruptive technology in the endovascular space and adding a strategic marketing professional to their commercial team. This is a newly created position to create and execute marketing strategy for a high-profile launch in the US. The product is the first FDA approval for treatment of a vascular condition that affects millions of patients each year. The launch is exceptionally high visibility, both internally and within the biotech industry.

The role will have a significant impact on the long-term success of the organization and will require significant leadership and routine interaction with the executive team. If you are looking for a high-visibility marketing assignment in a dynamic, fast-paced organization then this could be the opportunity for you.

The Opportunity:

In this newly created role you will focus on developing and executing launch strategy for the US launch, the first commercial launch in any global region. You’ll make recommendations to the senior leadership team regularly and then own the execution of these programs. Duties include product positioning, branding and messaging as well as competitive intelligence and building KOL relationships.

There is a large project management component to the role, and excellent communication skills are required, including written, oral and presentation skills. Their new technology is disruptive and high-growth so your challenge will be to create awareness and expand the market, rather than shifting market share. You will work closely with Key Opinion Leaders in the endovascular community to develop them as advocates for new technology and manage medical education and trade show programming. You will serve as the commercial leader on cross-functional teams with colleagues from product development, sales, finance, regulatory, operations, and medical affairs. Their rapidly expanding organization means there are significant opportunities for career development and advancement, including the ability to hire a direct report in this role. Overnight travel is estimated at 25-30%.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of downstream med device experience
  • Evidence of successful product launch
  • Vascular experience, particularly endovascular, is a plus
  • A Bachelor’s Degree or better is required; as is an MBA or similar advanced degree

This position will be based in the San Francisco Bay area (South Bay). Financial assistance is available for relocation support. The team works 3-4 days per week in office and the remainder from home.

A highly competitive base salary is provided, along with a yearly cash bonus, generous 401k match, and a comprehensive benefits package. The base salary for this position is $118,000-$236,100.

If you are a self-starter who enjoys the challenges and rewards of working in a technical, high-growth market, and if your background matches these qualifications, please apply.
