A small, high-growth Biotech company is expanding its commercial team and adding a Senior Director of Sales Operations to build and lead a team of analysts working in the medical device / pharmaceutical combination therapy market. The organization has enjoyed double-digit revenue growth each of the past three years. The growth has driven the need to add sales and marketing professionals, as well as operational and analytics support staff. The Senior Director will lead a team of Sales Planning Analysts and Managers who are assigned to various sales regions across the U.S. Duties will include sales force sizing and structure, customer segmentation and targeting, and the development of dashboards and sales reporting systems. You will partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to gain agreement on business objectives and the action plans needed to achieve them. You will work routinely with prescription audits and claims data from IMS/Iqvia, Symphony Health, and other data vendors in the biotech and pharmaceutical industry and develop monitoring systems to optimize field sales effectiveness.

This is a high-profile assignment in a rapidly expanding market, so you will be presenting and defending recommendations with executive management on a routine basis. As the organization grows you will continue to add staff in positions of increasing scope and business complexity. You will onboard and train new hires, create team member development plans, conduct mid-year and annual performance reviews, and assist in employee career development. You will also serve on cross-functional teams consisting of colleagues from marketing, finance, IT, and medical affairs. This is a long-term planning role that will have direct impact on the success of the organization, and the high visibility of the position means there are significant opportunities for career development.

The successful candidate will have the following qualities:
• 8+ years of sales or marketing operations experience in the biotech, pharmaceutical or medical device industries, or in management consulting serving those industries
• Extensive experience working with prescription audits and insurance claims data sets from third-party vendors (e.g. IMS/Iqvia, Symphony Health, Wolters Kluwer, etc.)
• Direct supervisory experience of other operational personnel
• Bachelor’s degree or better is required; MBA or similar advanced degree is strongly preferred

An attractive compensation package for this position includes a competitive base salary, annual bonus based on company and individual performance, and stock options.

This position will be based in the San Francisco Bay Area; financial assistance for relocation support is provided.
