Job Description
Group Marketing Manager – Disruptive Cardiac Device

Disruptive technology. Strong career development.
A profitable, high-growth Bay Area Medical Device company is expanding their commercial marketing team and adding a newly created commercial launch Group Marketing Manager. They develop innovative, life-saving technology for the cardiology market and have grown 5-15% each of the past six years. Their surgical products treat a range of complex cardiovascular and structural heart conditions. They need a Marketer for an innovative product portfolio that changes lives for patients from teens to the elderly. The portfolio has multiple upcoming launches, is highly reimbursed and has high visibility within the company and the marketplace. The potential market for these products is predicted to grow 20%+ YOY each of the next several years. This is a true market development role where you’ll define and grow the market, have routine exposure to senior leadership, and strong career development.

The Opportunity:
In this role you will develop marketing plans and activities to strategically position a global market leader in the US structural heart space. This role focuses on downstream, customer-facing marketing including dissecting clinical data, creating marketing messaging and supporting the sales force with creative ideas. Duties include product positioning, branding and messaging, as well as KOL development for podium presence and publications. You’ll build a small team as one of your first duties and have routine exposure to the senior leadership team. This is a broadly defined assignment that will also include budgeting, forecasting, sales training, medical education programming, and extensive analytics, so we need someone who is comfortable “wearing many hats.”

There is a large project management component to the role, and excellent communication skills are required, including written, oral and presentation skills. Their new technology is disruptive and high-growth so your challenge will be to create awareness and expand the market, rather than shifting market share. You will work closely with Key Opinion Leaders in the cardiology and neurology community to develop them as advocates for the new technology, plan and implement Advisory Boards, and manage medical education and trade show programming. They are organized in a matrix structure and you will serve as the commercial leader on cross-functional teams with colleagues from product development, sales, finance, regulatory, operations, and medical affairs. Their rapidly expanding organization means there are significant opportunities for career development and advancement. Overnight travel is estimated at 35%.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of commercialized product management in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry
• Evidence supporting a sales force
• Previous people management experience
• A Bachelor’s Degree or better is required; an MBA or similar is a plus

The industry-leading compensation plan includes base salary plus annual bonus and long-term incentives along with a generous corporate benefits package.

This position will be based in the San Francisco Bay Area (South Bay) or Minnesota. Financial assistance is available for relocation support.

This is an entrepreneurial opportunity with a dynamic company that prides itself on the unique, differentiated qualities of its product offerings.
