Apollo Technical has an immediate need for a Valve Applications Engineer in the Oviedo, FL area

This is a full-time, direct, in person position for a leading supplier of a broad range of mechanical, electrical and heat transfer products for the power generation industry.

Qualifications:
  • BA/BS in appropriate (technical) field is preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in engineering, sales, purchasing or selection of industrial valves
  • Excellent understanding of industrial valves, instrumentation and their applications
  • Excellent understanding of Valve Actuators and accessories (Pneumatic, Electric &; Hydraulic)
  • Experience with Control Valve sizing Calculations is highly preferred but not required
  • Excellent understanding of basic principals of Pressure, Temperature, Level, Fluid Flow, etc.
  • Excellent understanding of basic principals of Measurement, Accuracy, Electrical Signal transmission and power supply
  • Ability to review and comprehend detailed engineering specifications
  • Ability to review and comprehend engineering drawings and ID’s (piping and instrumentation diagrams)
  • Excellent understanding of common industry standards (ASME, ANSI, NEC, IEC, etc…)
  • Basic understanding of common Commercial Terms and Conditions (Payment Terms, Warranty coverage, liquidated damages, Incoterms, etc…)
  • Excellent proficiency with Excel Spread sheets and all other Microsoft Office programs
  • Personal Skills: Highly self-motivated and driven, with a mindset to close sales, Excellent phone and written communication skills, Highly Personable and Customer Service Oriented, Highly Self Organized and Detail Oriented, Excellent time management and deadline driven, Ability to make and execute good independent decisions when situation requires

Responsibilities:
  • Quotations and Project Proposals creation:
    • Work with customer engineers and buyers to review and fully understand all requirements of: Application/process design conditions, Technical specifications requirements, Documentation/Testing requirements, Commercial Terms and Conditions and Deadlines: proposal due date, document due dates, equipment ship date
    • Work with Engineers, Sales and Production personnel at the Factory/Manufacturer to determine best product fit, pricing and ensure all customer requirements are met.
    • Create customer quotations/project proposals
    • Detail all technical, documentation, commercial and delivery requirements
    • Determine appropriate customer pricing and discounting strategies based on established guidelines and benchmark knowledge of competitive offerings.
  • Purchase Order creation:
    • Work with Inside Order Manager create detailed purchase order to manufacturer/factory.
      · Documentation Management:
  • Review all documentation and testing reports for accuracy from Manufacturer. Organize and format all documentation to customer requirements and submit to customer via established web
    portals
  • Logistics:
    • Assist Inside Order Manager in correct execution of packaging and shipping.
  • After Sales Support:
    • Address any post sales questions or requests from customer engineers, buyers, or plant end users
    • Assist Inside Order Manager in any warranty claims or returned equipment to factory.
