Apollo Technical has an immediate need for a We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Designer / design engineer in the Black Mountain NC / Asheville NC area

Requirements:

• An innovative approach to design and engineering
• Good organisation and time keeping skills
• Good attention to detail
• An understanding of ergonomic and human factors
• An understanding of sustainable design.
• Strong communication skills
• Solidworks and Keyshot experience preferred.
• Understanding of the following is an advantage
• Furniture and timber design
• Sheet steel fabrication
• Plastic mouldings and castings
• Particular interest in sustainability

Duties:

• Work as a project design engineer, to take concepts to finish products.
• Liaise with R&D on new and future concepts.
• Produce design proposals and engineered solutions that match the brief or specifications on a project by project basis.
• Render 3D models in Keyshot, to illustrate designs.
• Create engineered drawing packages that accurately reflect the client order specification and contain all relevant manufacturing data.
• Model standard parts (in SolidWorks) to a high standard. These models should be well structured, constrained and easy to modify in the future.
• Create and maintain a high standard of product literature, such as part catalogues and installation guides.
• Liaise with manufacturing and installation over the assembly of product.
• Effective time management is important along with good communication skills to ensure that the team leader is aware of any changes to the timescales outlined for the design phase.
