- Experience handling, reviewing, and managing sensitive and complex records, including personnel and legal files.
- Knowledge of ATIP legislation, policies, and procedures, with the ability to analyze, research, and process formal requests.
- Experience consulting with internal and external stakeholders, including senior managers, legal counsel, and government agencies.
- Strong communication skills to brief and advise senior officials on ATIP-related matters.
- Experience preparing reports, analyzing requests, and ensuring accurate and timely information processing.
- Ability to coach and train others on Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) processes.
- Experience managing and coordinating information storage, classification, and disposal.
- Familiarity with content management systems and records management tools.
- Ability to identify and implement improvements to information management practices.
If hired, you will:
- Review, analyze, and process ATIP requests, ensuring compliance with legislation.
- Handle and review sensitive files, including harassment complaints and disciplinary records.
- Consult with key stakeholders such as legal counsel, Treasury Board Secretariat, and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
- Provide recommendations on the release of sensitive information and best practices for processing requests.
- Prepare reports and brief senior management on ATIP-related issues.
- Review and manage complaints, investigations, and the application of exemptions and exclusions.
- Maintain, store, and organize records while ensuring systematic control over information.
- Provide document and records management services, including classification, retention, and disposal.
- Support improvements to information management standards and best practices.
- Conduct online research and use information systems to locate necessary records.
